The Not So Fun Side of Winter in Iowa

We're in the middle of our first winter storm of the season. This photo was taken about an hour ago in front of my house in Coralville. In the meantime it's started snowing again. It seems the chaos is not going to end just yet. Everything has come to a complete standstill - Even Coral Ridge Mall has closed. (A rare occurrence indeed!) The winds are very high and we have a blizzard warning until midnight. More details at kwwl.com

Hi Denise ~ It's pretty but not so fun.  Good for you to have a snow shoveler in residence!

Denise, I grew up 80 miles from you and remember those storms well.  Thank you for your post and pics, reminded me why I now live where it is warm.  Keep warm and stay safe.

Hi Liz ~ Yes it is pretty, but only as long as you don't need to drive in it!

Hi Lori ~ Glad I was able to give you a trip down memory lane.:-) Lucky you, right now I'd trade spaces with you in a heartbeat!

On the up side, tomorrow we should see some sun. That should make for some nice Christmas card like photos...

Thank you both for stopping by.
